The Chiefs’ Bryan Cook had to be carted off the field on Sunday night after a scary injury in the second half of the game between the Kansas City and Green Bay Packers.
Cook was hurt while trying to make a tackle on Packers running back AJ Dillon.
The Chiefs’ defensive back had his ankle bent awkwardly underneath him as he tried to get low to make the hit, but the force of the collision sent Cook back onto his ankle and had him rolling in pain after the play.
Cook was in a considerable amount of pain as he was being looked at by the Chiefs medical staff and as he was being taken off the field on the cart.
It looked as though Cook was trying to fight back tears as the NBC sports camera zoomed in on him being taken off with his hands over his eyes.
He was ruled out of the rest of the game with an ankle injury.
The injury could be a massive blow for the Chiefs and their new star defensive back.
Cook had been selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Cincinnati.
He had been elevated to a starter role this season alongside Justin Reid and had made 35 total tackles, one interception, two pass deflections and two fumble recoveries.

The primetime billing had already been a bit of a rough one for the Chiefs, who were playing in front of pop icon Taylor Swift for the fifth time this season.
Swift has been dating star tight end Travis Kelce.
Kansas City had trailed 14-12 at the time of the injury and they had already suffered a few injuries earlier in the game.
Linebacker Drue Tranquill, left tackle Donovan Smith, and Reid had all left the game due to some sort of issue before the Chiefs were dealt another blow with Cook.
