When talking about flying saucers , people usually immediately think of “alien vehicles”. However, in reality, many flying saucers are created by humans themselves, but they are considered a special secret, so they are sometimes considered “UFOs”. One of the types of human-built flying saucers is the VZ-9 Avrocar, researched and developed by Avro Canada, part of a top-secret military project of the US military in Canada.

Equipped with a total of 3 Continental J69-T-9 jet engines, this flying saucer is capable of taking off with a maximum weight of up to 2.5 tons.

According to calculations, the maximum speed that the American flying saucer can reach will be about 483 km/h, a maximum range of 1,600 km/h and a flight ceiling of up to 3,000 meters.

The VZ-9 Avrocar also has its own combat doctrine written by its engineers, in which this flying saucer will use its ability to fly high and fast to approach the target and attack anyone, and then unexpectedly escape from the battlefield with a flight path that made it impossible for the enemy to pursue him.

However, life was not as expected and the VZ-9 Avrocar flying saucer project was canceled because none of its test models produced the expected results.

Specifically, the maximum speed reached by the VZ-9 Avrocar is only 56 km/h (theoretically 483 km/h); The maximum range is only 127 km (theoretical 1600 km) and the ceiling is only 0.9 meters (theoretical 3000 meters).

In 1961, the US Air Force’s VZ-9 Avrocar flying saucer design project was officially canceled after the country’s military and government spent up to $10 million to create two prototypes that “only “They could fly a little.”

All secrets about the VZ-9 Avrocar were revealed by the United States in 2002, after the death of all members of this project.
